Breakdown Offer - Terms and conditions
1. Barclays Motor Insurance are funding an offer on breakdown cover provided by RAC. Breakdown cover (Rescue) which normally costs £45 will be provided for £1, with Barclays Motor Insurance funding £44. All other tiers will be available at a £44 discount.
2. Customers need to obtain a Barclays Motor Insurance quote between 23rd December 2009 and 19 February 2010 inclusive, and then go on to purchase a policy either through the Barclays website, via the Branch Network or by Telephone. This offer is not available through price comparison websites.
3. This offer is available to new Barclays Motor Insurance customers only.
4. The RAC Breakdown cover is provided for the insured vehicle only and cannot be transferred to any other policy.
5. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
6. At renewal the full cost of the RAC Breakdown cover will be automatically added to your renewal offer unless you notify us otherwise.
7. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other car insurance offer. Barclays reserves the right to withdraw or extend this offer at anytime.
8. If the main car insurance policy is cancelled, the Breakdown cover policy will also be cancelled.

Third party car insurance

- Legal liability for death or injury to any other person, including passengers

You can boost your car insurance cover for an additional fee. These options are available on both our comprehensive and third-party products:
- Legal Protection. We can pay up to £100,000 of your costs if you make a claim that results in court action. This type of cover can also provide a replacement vehicle for up to 48 hours if yours is out of action 3
- Breakdown cover (provided by RAC). We offer different levels of cover, including Rescue, Recovery, At Home and Onward Travel. These can also be extended to give you cover in other parts of the EU. To save you time and confirm that we can deal with your online quote, please check that the following apply:
- You hold a valid UK driving licence
- You have informed the DVLA of relevant illnesses or disabilities and they have agreed to the issue of a licence
- You haven’t been refused motor insurance or had any terms imposed
- The insurance policy relates to a car in the UK, including Northern Ireland
- The car has a valid UK registration number, is not 'Q' registered and meets UK specifications (eg it is not a Japanese import)
- The car will not be used for professional driving tuition, motor trade purposes, hire or reward, racing, rallies, "track days" or competitions
