Need help with jargon?
Here are the five definitions that we think you'll find most helpful.
- Overdraft interest
-
This is the interest charged for any overdrawn balance over a set period of time. Overdraft (or debit) interest is usually calculated each day and then applied monthly. We notify customers 14 days before any overdraft interest is actually charged to their account.
- Multi-trip travel insurance
-
If you travel several times in the year, a multi-trip or annual policy could be a better value option than single trip travel insurance. You’ll be protected all year round against problems such as cancellation, personal accident, personal liability, sickness or lost baggage.
- Contactless payment technology
-
A new, quick and easy way to pay for purchases of £10 or under. Simply hold your debit or credit card against the reader when making your purchase. Enjoy the same fraud protection as Chip and PIN. All new Barclaycard credit cards now come with integrated contactless payment technology.
- Home Emergency Cover
-
Additional home insurance that covers emergency repairs for services in your house that you rely on such as electricity, plumbing and heating.
- Overdraft Limit
-
An overdraft is a pre-agreed facility that allows you to withdraw money from your account, in excess of your credit balance.
